DramaworksNow.com began with a quest for the perfect dinner theater script. Our annual church presentation was coming soon and no script seemed appropriate. Secular scripts required too much editing to make them appropriate for a family audience and religious scripts were just that - too religious! We needed something that would work in an outreach event and yet still have a moral without being "preachy" or "judgmental." With that in mind, we decided to try our hand at writing our own scripts. It was such a success that we began writing new scripts on a regular basis. Soon, other organizations began asking if they could purchase our works and that led to this website. For almost ten years we have been offering our scripts via download and the tradition continues with DramaworksNow.com. We hope you enjoy our offerings! |

Sow in tears...reap in joy? What does that mean? Actually, it is scripture quoted from Psalm 126:5 - "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy." The verse uses the symbolism of the garden: just as a gardener may cast his seed in a dry and parched soil and wonder what the result may be, so those shall reap abundant fruit who toil in tears with the prayer of faith. In theater, the same is true. We toil in preparation for the production not knowing where the seed may land. The seed may touch someone's heart in a way that was completely unplanned and unexpected. A seed may drop into a heart and grow into a deep and strong faith - sometimes without the sower (the actor, the playwright, the stagehand) ever knowing the earthly result. However, we do know the final result in that final day: joy! |
